It is a veritable epidemic that needs to stop. While I'm ultimately powerless to stop it, I can at least shine a bright light on it and explain the reasons why it is both unnecessary and flawed. More The NFL has long been lauded for the competitive balance that exists throughout the league. "Any given Sunday" is a mantra the league not only embraces but promotes. The idea is that the existence of the salary cap enables any team to not only win on any given day but also come out of nowhere to have a playoff or even Super Bowl caliber season.
